Gas Production from Jafurah Field Strengthens Aramco’s Energy Expansion

Gas production marks a strategic milestone in Saudi Aramco’s expansion within the energy sector, as the company prepares to launch the first phase of the Jafurah field, the Kingdom’s largest non-associated gas development.

The company noted that gas production from Jafurah follows significant progress in commissioning activities, with initial start-up operations already underway in line with the project’s approved timeline.

Jafurah is a cornerstone of Aramco’s long-term growth plans, holding vast reserves of gas and condensates that support rising domestic demand and reinforce Saudi Arabia’s position as a reliable energy supplier.

Executives highlighted that gas production from the field supports Aramco’s target to increase gas output by up to 60% between 2021 and 2030, while strengthening its ambition to build a global LNG and gas supply portfolio.

The project also aligns with the Kingdom’s broader energy transition goals, promoting sustainability, reducing emissions, and providing cleaner fuel to underpin industrial and economic growth.
