SAMA Launches Electronic Cheque Clearing via Digital Services Portal

The Saudi Central Bank has launched electronic cheque clearing through its digital services portal, aiming to accelerate cheque collection within one business day and improve banking efficiency.

The electronic cheque clearing service forms part of the Saudi Central Bank’s digital transformation strategy to automate services offered to individuals and institutions via a unified and secure digital platform.

By enabling transactions to be completed electronically, electronic cheque clearing reduces processing time, improves accessibility and strengthens data protection using advanced technologies.

Expansion of digital services

The portal hosts a range of digital services, including inquiries into deceased accounts and deposits, consumer complaints against financial institutions, personal data rights requests and regulatory sandbox participation, among others.

Additional digital services are expected to be rolled out gradually to enhance user experience and service coverage.
