Exceptional Growth in Saudi Service Exports: Tourism and Transport Drive Economic Surge in 2025
Unprecedented Boom in the Non-Oil Economy
Official data released by the General Authority for Statistics has unveiled remarkable results for the services sector during the third quarter of 2025, as Service Exports surged to a record 58.2 billion SAR.
This figure underscores the growing role of vital sectors in supporting the GDP away from oil price fluctuations, proving the success of national strategies in transforming the Kingdom into a leading global hub for logistics and tourism services.
Tourism and Transport: The Golden Engines of Growth
Travel services dominated the export list, contributing to Service Exports with a value of 33.8 billion SAR, followed by transport services which recorded 9.7 billion SAR.
These numbers reflect the massive leap in infrastructure and mega-projects, as the Kingdom has become a premier tourist and commercial destination.
This has significantly enhanced the competitiveness of Saudi Service Exports regionally and internationally, opening new horizons for diversifying national income sources in line with Vision 2030 targets.
Global Methodology Ensuring Transparency and Accuracy
Statistical authorities emphasized that this data relies on the highest international methodologies according to the Balance of Payments Manual (BPM6), ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the published figures.
Although service imports reached 120.8 billion SAR, the continuous growth in operational efficiency and technical services indicates a steady trend toward narrowing the gap and bolstering economic sustainability.
The development of Service Exports remains a cornerstone in building a robust economy that keeps pace with global digital and logistical transformations.
