Saudi Stock Market Rises Ahead of Anticipated Federal Reserve Interest Rate Decision

The Saudi stock market continued to post gains as investors awaited the upcoming decision by the US Federal Reserve, amid expectations of an additional interest rate cut that could boost liquidity and improve risk appetite.

The main index of the Saudi stock market, TASI, closed the session up 0.25% at 10,726 points, extending the strong performance seen in the previous session, which marked its best gain in nearly two months.

Trading activity showed mixed performance among leading stocks, as Al Rajhi Bank shares ended the session down 0.6% after opening with gains of nearly 1%, reflecting continued caution within the Saudi stock market.

The gains came despite lower trading liquidity, with average daily turnover since early December standing at around SAR 3.6 billion, compared with more than SAR 4 billion in November and approximately SAR 5.6 billion in October, highlighting investor caution ahead of clearer signals on US monetary policy.
